Caseythebarber.com

Some of you may have noticed the new link on the sidebar. It's for a friend who I've been a patron of for many years: Gus Casey. I started going to Gus's place (Casey's Hot Cuts in Evergreen Park Il) over 17 years ago because a friend that we went to High School with (who used to cut our hair) worked for him. Our friend moved on (and away), but we never moved from Casey's. We found that the value for the quality of cut could not be beat at Casey's. All his stylists had modern education and know how to do current styles, and Gus has over 50 years of real barbering experience which he shares with all his stylists. If you've never had a full on barber cut and shave, you have missed out on something special. Hot towels, barber shave, more hot towels, glycerin facial rub, a cold towel to close the pours, and finally; that cold stinging (yet weirdly refreshing) camphor aftershave smack (Just to be safe, Gus usually backs away as he does this....you never know how sensitive someones skin is). Due to zoning changes and a construction boom in Evergreen Park, Gus decided to close up shop there. After a few year hiatus (in which he took many regular customers in his basement), he decided to set up shop again at The Finish Lane this time a bit closer to home in Countryside Il. Gus had been asking me about getting a domain and a site for a while, so I set him up with Microsoft Office Live. It's hard to do better than free, especially with the amount of bandwidth and email space MS plops on for free. The site tools were adequate (though registration is a multi-step and multi-day operation, you have to wait for and follow the link in a "final" registration verification email 24-48 hours after you register before everything works right). Still it had just what he wanted, and took very little time and effort to set up. Yes it's basic (pardon the cell phone taken pictures), but it will have hours, directions, and info for him and his other stylist. If anyone has any suggestions for me to make things look better over there, please feel free to email me at ux4484(at)caseythebarber.com.
If you're in the area, stop by at The Finish Lane, take the kids, and bowl a game after you get some excellent service.
