Just got the letter today, daughter #1 was accepted to one of the best Catholic High Schools in the state.
....now we just have to pay for it...
Update:
As of Saturday, she was also accepted into one of the most difficult to get in High School's of "The City". One which we have to seriously consider....which is also readily accessible to use location-wise.
Their ratings, state scholars, college acceptance numbers, and quality of colleges that recruit there are just as good as the private school.
decisions, decisions...
27 Feb. Update:
After some debate, we've researched, discussed and decided that her original Catholic choice will win the day. The "good" public school in "The City" has some drawbacks having to do with some of the senior staff and personal agendas that are clearly against Catholic ideals.....not that there's anything wrong with that....just not the environment we'd like to see her in. After discussing all this with her, she said she only wanted to go with the public option if some of her friends were going, which as it turns out, none are. While she has no close friends at the Catholic school, she knows some girls from her piano classes as well as most of the swim team who practice at the same time and place as her swim classes (the coach told her she's already good enough to be on their team).

The Mrs. would beg to differ that "there isn't anything wrong with that". I know why I don't want her to go to the one public school and I'm not afraid to say it!
