Needless to say...Spoiler Warning....
Daughter #1 read it in two and a half days, it took me a few more with my schedule.
I had the feeling it should have been just a little bit longer, and with something more significant that weakened Dumbledore (than the mysterious must-be-drunk green drought), especially when it bore little apparent fruit. By chapter ten, I felt the prince had to be one of two baddies (one of which who it turned out to be). That Snape came out of the closet was not so much of a surprise as how woefully he showed Draco lacking. By the end you realize that he agreed to the unbreakable vow because he knew Voldemort's plan. I thought we were going somewhere with the werewolf origin in this book other than just terror (but I suppose that will be tackled in book 7). Why was there so much "snogging" going on? I mean...the snogging thing with Ron was funny, but it hardly founded Harry's turn around on Ginny...though having been 16 (and having started dating my wife at that age), I agree it can hit you that way.
This may sound like griping, but there just these things that were knocking around after I read it, I did enjoy it.
A few questions if anyone's up for it...
Who is R.A.B.?
While it is kind-of explained; Why is it so important that Harry go back to the Dursley's on last time? There must be a further explanation than the one Dumbledore provided.
Will there be a 7th year?
Do You think our three heroes will attend?
Does Garwp still have a part to play?
Will Harry's barring of his newfound relationship hold?
Lastly; It doesn't now seem quite so obvious that Harry has to die for Voldemort to be killed...
What do you think?
I think I need to read it again...a bit more slowly maybe...especially in the early chapters.
