Happy Mother's Day

I'm the youngest of 7 kids, no matter what you've heard, the youngest gets away with the least. My parents had seen it all after 6 other kids, there was no getting away with anything they hadn't already seen (well... maybe some). My Mom has been a great cold war Mom (best way I can describe her era). My Mrs. has been and exceptional 9/11 Mom. Both my kids realize what the biggest danger in the world today is (do I have to say it?), They also realize that they will both be college graduates before they get married, not that they MUST work, but if they do, it will be their choice of job, not thrust upon them like my/our parents. Being somewhat in control gives you more of a sense of purpose than being pigeon-holed into a career. I should have been an engineer, but in hindsight, being a tech has better meshed with my personality (I'm nowhere as stiff as most engineers, though some of you may disagree). My Mrs. has been a fantastic One on One Mom as well as a Teaching by example Mom. Our girls already recite specific talks my Mrs has had with them (something I know my sisters have only recently copped to with my Mom), and act the same towards us whether with us or with their friends (something I consider a major accomplishment). High school starts for daughter #1 this year, and will be the biggest test of our lines of communications. If we can maintain the level of communication we already have, I think we'll be alright.
