Christmas Rush sets in....

When does your Laser printer go POOF!

Right when you're printing Christmas Card labels...

When does your oil filter gasket fail and your van needs a new ENGINE?

On the way to work on a rainy cold night the week after Thanksgiving (Thankfully the oil change place is gracefully footing the bill)...

When does your wife's car get a flat tire?

On the coldest day of the year when you've had no sleep for 32 hours (mercifully it was a slow leak, I was able to pump it up and drive it to a tire repair shop)...

When do you find that some goof in personnel has marked you as on vacation on days you specified as "excused no pay"?

When the two three day weekends you scheduled for Christmas are coming up (and being the end of the year, they won't reassign them)...

When do you find out that your Boss and (work) partner are likely going to retire soon...and somehow your relatively comfy situation may be quite shaken up?

Why of course, right when you things are going along (at work) perfectly...

When does someone call you up and ask if you can do a complete system/software/hardware/infrastructure/database migration upgrade for them before years end (and has bought 1/3 their new stuff already without asking you)?

Why the first week of December (amazingly the stuff he already bought will actually work just fine with the rest of the upgrades).

And of course the other answer to all of these questions is: During the Holidays.

That has been my last two weeks.
