40 days and 40 nights

Coming up Wednesday is my yearly self-imposed Lenten Internet ban…
Yes….I usually give it up for lent.
Well…not completely; if I need to research something, help with homework, or email someone, I use it.
What I do give up is Forums, message boards, others blogs, even my fav Blackmask and Chordie sites (like I don’t have enough unread ebooks and songs not fully learned), and surfing for surfing’s sake.
This being my first year of blogging, I will have to add this blog to the ban.
It’s not that it’s BAD so much, but too much of anything is bad for you.  It’s good to give it up for a while to give you a fresh perspective.  
Unfortunately, this yearly ban has cost me a few good Internet gigs over the years, but I feel it keeps me from being Internet obsessed like others I’ve seen.
If anyone was paying attention, they may have noticed a flourish of ux postings over the years the last few days before lent, but really…..other than Homeland Security, I don’t think anyone’s watching that closely ;) .
